Car Accident Treatment
“Feeling like a million bucks! I have been suffering neck pain for the past decade due to a car accident in the 90's. I experienced relief after the 3rd visit. Dr. Tilson and his staff are very friendly, professional and accommodating. He takes his time to explain the details of my condition despite his busy schedule. As a fellow healthcare provider, I applaud him. Lastly, the massage therapist is absolutely amazing.”

The Importance of Chiropractic Care After an Auto Accident
Did you know that not all auto accident related symptoms appear right after a collision? In fact, most symptoms take time to fully develop. It can take from a few days, several weeks to several months after an accident occurs. Often, small hairline fractures usually do not show up on x-rays if they are taken immediately after an accident. Soft tissue injuries are also not easy to assess. We understand that delayed symptoms can be as devastating as ones that immediately appear.
Post-collision, many people experience injury to muscles, reduced range of motion, and stiffness. In more extreme cases people suffer dizziness, headaches, and/or blurred vision. These symptoms stem from the body being placed under a sudden and intense amount of torque and stress. When the spine is misaligned, the unnatural positioning puts pressure on the surrounding muscles and joints.
Neglecting auto accident injuries can and do lead to further complications. Dr. Tilson is an injury chiropractor who has treated hundreds of car accident injury patients that have sought treatment immediately after an accident as well as years after. It is important to seek treatment as most patients are able to make a full recovery!

Why Do I Need Adjustments If I’m Not In Pain?Chiropractic is about healing the brain-body connection through the spine. Chiropractors are specialists of the nervous system, composed of the brain, spinal cord and all the accompanying nerves. The goal of adjusting the spine is to restore proper motion, improve spinal function and remove interference from the nervous system. By relieving subluxations of the spine, your nerves can properly relay information to and from your brain to the rest of your body. Only 10% of nerves are able to process pain, leaving many subluxations to go undetected while affecting up to 90% of your nerves. Visiting your chiropractor regularly to assess your spinal biomechanics and nervous system can help detect, maintain and prevent dysfunction throughout your body.

What is the "Popping" Sound I Sometimes Hear During Adjustments?"The popping noises are called "cavitations" and are caused by gas bubbles being released from spinal joints during an adjustment. This noise is completely normal and does not cause any pain or discomfort. Synovial fluid is produced from the joints of your spine. By-products of synovial fluid are oxygen, nitrogen, and CO2 gasses. When a joint is gapped, the gas is released. Once the joint opens up, the synovial fluid re-lubricates the joint surface and normal motion is restored. Just as you "pop" a bottle of champagne, the results are worth celebrating!
